Send your art or articles to unbrellazine@gmail.com. Confused? Here are some FAQ's:
What do you want from me?
Anything experimental is good as long as it’s interesting and fairly legible. I would love to have something electronic such as music or a video. We have the technology so why not use it? Other than that poetry, prose, reviews, nonfiction, features of your fave bands, photography, interviews with interesting people etc. I would love to have someone do an advice column and someone can take over the horoscopes if they want to. Really anything that is beautiful or interesting or entertaining or even exceptionally boring. Just don’t send me really bad poetry that you think is good (if you rhyme rain and pain that’s probably an indication that your poem sucks and no one cares about your sorrows).
Anything? What if I just sent you 500 naked pictures of myself?
500 is a lot so I’d probably only look at the first 100 but if there were good ones I’d prob post them.
When do I need to send you my stuff?
We put out issues every month and a half or so. The deadline for the next issue is January 22nd 2010.
I suck at art, and writing, can I send you my economics paper?
If it’s interesting I guess so but there are other ways you can get involved.
What are other ways I can get involved?
1. Buy a package of sticky notes and write www.unbrellazine.com on all of them and then post them around the city: on subways and buses, in washrooms, inside the menus at East Side Mario’s or anywhere else you think people might see them.
2. Buy some chalk and take some friends to write the zine address on the sidewalk all around the city one night. I might be taking a crew out so let me know if you want to come.
3. Edit! I’ll send you stuff before it gets posted and you and read it over for spallelling and grammar mistakes.
4. Graphic design skills.
5. Possibly webbing skills
6. Hugs, food and good luck.
